Is located 8 kilometers south of Puerto Bertrand, in the heart of Chilean Patagonia, on the banks of the Baker River, the widest in Chile and one of the best fly-fishing spots. You can reach us through the Carretera Austral winding across woods, rivers and fjords, past waterfalls, mountains and glaciers.
In this area is rather cold and unstable, but can reach 20ºC in the summer, being January the warmer month, and July the one with the lowest temperatures.
Is surrounded by native forest, with species including Lenga, Ñire, Cipres and Coigüe. Among the wildlife, there are numerous species of animals and birds -most of them protected– such as huemul (Andean Deer), guanaco (Andean camelid), grey fox, puma, hare, condor, eagle, hawk, cormoran, woodpecker, cucao, among others.
How to get here
There are several ways to access our Lodge
There are regular flights from Santiago national airport or Puerto Montt airport to Coyhaique. You can rent a private plane to get to Cochrane, or drive south along the Carretera Austral (Route 7). Lodge BordeBaker is 8 kilometers south of Puerto Beltrand.
From Puerto Montt you can take the Carretera Austral to the south, about 1,100 km. The ride includes several different length ferryboat trips.
There are several daily bus services between Coyhaique and Cochrane offered by Sao Paulo and Don Carlos bus companies.
From Route 40, you need to take Route 41 (westward) as far as Paso Internacional Roballos, located 250 Km. south of Perito Moreno.
